A: me
B: person who called me

*Phone call from blocked number*
A: Hello?
B: Hi, My name is William [censored] calling from Studylink, how are you today?
A: I'm fine thanks.
B: Just to let you know, this call may be recorded for training purposes is that fine?
A: Yeah, sure.
B: Before I can ask you more questions, I'm going to need to confirm your details.
A: Wait, what? You just called me from a blocked number stating that you're from Studylink, and now you want me to confirm with you MY details? How do I know that you're even from Studylink? Would you like to confirm YOUR details first and I may consider giving you mine.
B: Haha... well I'm William [censored] calling from Studylink Wellington office... If you want, I can give you my address since I'll be asking you for it too.
A: I don't care where you live, I'm not releasing any information unless you can prove to me that you're Studylink.
B: Um I'm not sure how I can do that
A: How about you give me a brief overview that is not too confidential that could exploit "my personal details" so I may be convinced
B: Well I'm just calling to let you know that we have more students than ever before and advising you to get your things sorted early.
A: I've already applied for my loan and my allowance thanks. bye.

Okay, so he calls me and then asks me to confirm my details. what the fuck?

If he WAS from Studylink, wouldn't he already know that I've already applied for the loan/allowance and that they're just awaiting my proof of income etc?

Be aware of phishing guys :)
